Oswal Woolen Mills Ltd, the flagship company of Nahar group began its operations in 1949 in Ludhiana. Initial focus was on hosiery and textile fabrics, in 1972 it set up its wool combing unit sensing the huge business opportunity in the domestic readymade knitwear. Initially having expertise in hosiery and woolens, it was in 1984 when Monte Carlo was launched as a brand, which was a significant step in the evolution of branded garment industry in India. Since then, it has been catering to the ever-growing demands of the Clothing and Fashion industry in India. Being the market leader and enjoying wide spread recognition in the woolen segment, the flagship Company, OWM in order to make Monte Carlo an all season brand and to capitalize on the brand name, entered into cotton segments. In order to have a more focused approach to the Monte Carlo business, the readymade garment business was demerged from Oswal Woolen Mills to Monte Carlo Fashions Limited in the year 2011-12 and Vanaik Spinning Mills Limited was selected as its franchisee and to look after of its Ecommerce business. The products offered under brand Monte Carlo, apart from woolen knitted garments, include Shirts, Trousers, Denims, Bermudas, Lowers, Hi-Street Fashion Shirts, Tops, Dresses, Jumpsuits, Urban Tunics, Shrugs, Shorts, Capris, Narrow Pants, Leggings, Track Suits and Solid T-Shirts for men, women and tweens (8-14 years). Widening its horizons, the company also gained ground in the production and supply of accessories like ties, belts, socks, The main objective of the company is to stand up to the buyers' expectations with consistent quality backed with R&D divisions equipped with latest technology, a team of highly qualified technocrats and adhering to timely schedules. Due to this farsightedness and the passion towards our work, we are proud to say that in the branded woolen wear segment, Monte Carlo enjoys a market share of more than fifty percent. The Company's products reach the end user through different channels i.e. through Exclusive Brand Outlets, Multi Brand Outlets, Large Format Outlets and through e-commerce websites. Currently, Monte Carlo is available through more than 200 exclusive brand outlets, over thirteen hundred multi brand outlets and more than sixty large format stores.
